HCF Blog 1
We are delighted to be collaborating with the Herefordshire Community Foundation (HCF) to film a series of interviews with their grant recipients and members, highlighting the positive impact they have across the county. HCF provides grants that make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable, isolated and disadvantaged people in Herefordshire. Their deep understanding of the county — and the challenges it faces — means they are perfectly placed to identify local needs and support meaningful community projects.
Over the next couple of months, Wild Edric Media will be filming interviews with a range of organisations and businesses across the county that have benefited from HCF funding. These interviews will form part of a wider video project designed to showcase the vital work HCF does and the people it supports.
The first week of January saw us filming at a small village primary school with Tim Kaye from CLAN (Cultivating Learning and Natural History). CLAN is a charity passionate about engaging people of all ages in ecological issues, natural history and wildlife education. Tim received a grant from the Herefordshire Community Foundation to support this work. Despite filming in a much smaller space than we would usually use for interviews, we adapted our setup by using a compact portable light and a single camera. We then filmed outdoors with Tim and the children as he introduced them to his Nomadic Museum of Natural History, capturing engaging and authentic footage.
The following day, we filmed in Hereford with 2Faced Dance at their studio. 2Faced Dance is an all-male contemporary dance company based in Hereford, creating innovative and aspirational dance work that tours across the UK and internationally. We interviewed Tamsin and Sam in the foyer, allowing us to use a larger interview setup with two lights and softboxes, two cameras, and a boom microphone to capture high-quality audio. Carl then filmed the dancers in the studio, capturing dynamic b-roll footage to support the interviews.
We will be continuing to film more interviews throughout this month and will be sharing a second blog post soon. Once all interviews and supporting footage have been captured, we will edit everything into a promotional video for the Herefordshire Community Foundation, helping to raise awareness of the incredible work they do and how HCF grants can support communities across Herefordshire.
