Event Filming Preparation for Stonebridge’s Annual Business Conference

It all works! Next month, the Wild Edric Media team will be delivering large-scale event filming for Stonebridge’s annual business conference and evening awards ceremony. This is an event we’ve had the pleasure of filming for the past few years, but this year brings an exciting change — a brand-new venue.

Filming at The Celtic Manor

Last week, we visited The Celtic Manor to carry out a site recce and assess the new space where the conference and awards ceremony will take place. Seeing the scale of the main room made one thing very clear: we’re going to be dealing with some long cable runs.

For events of this size, careful planning and preparation are essential. Large venues can introduce technical challenges, so it’s always best to test all equipment well in advance.

Testing Event Filming Equipment

Back in the office this week, we unpacked all the kit to ensure everything is working exactly as it should. Over time, equipment — especially cables — can degrade, which is why thorough testing is a vital part of professional live event filming.

We tested all our cables, signal paths and live mixing equipment, and we’re pleased to report that everything is functioning perfectly. This preparation gives us confidence that the technical side of the event will run smoothly on the day.

Multi-Camera Setup and Colour Matching

For this event, we’ll be using 10 cameras to capture every aspect of the conference. This includes filming the guest speakers, covering the exhibition running alongside the event, and recording interview footage with clients before the conference begins.

To ensure a consistent and professional look, we took the opportunity to colour match all cameras. This step is essential when working with multi-camera setups, as it ensures seamless visuals across all footage.

On-Site Interview Studio Setup

In addition to the main event filming, we’ll be setting up a separate studio space within the venue to conduct interviews. This dedicated interview area allows us to capture high-quality audio and video in a controlled environment, even within a busy event schedule.

Looking Ahead to the Event

We’re really looking forward to working in this impressive new venue and capturing footage of the entire event. The conference will feature a range of guest speakers, including Dame Kelly Holmes, making it an exciting project to be part of.
